Of everything I make, this is the one I reach for most – easily three days out of four. To my eye, the Classic Fedora is simply the most refined shape in the lineup, and that teardrop “island” pressed into the top of the crown never gets old. I cut the blocks for it myself, chasing a cleaner line than the heavy, square hats of the 1940s: the front dimples sit closer together, so the whole hat reads slimmer and more tapered. The steady stream of compliments tells me I got it right.
