Walk into the right bar in Old Havana – one ceiling fan turning at half speed, twenty-year-old rum on the shelf – and the old locals will nod to you. Took me a while to work out why: it’s the hat. I chased this classic shape for years before I found blocks with everything just so – the pinches, the center dent, the gentle vertical taper of the crown, the profile curve across the top. The result is the fedora Havana deserves: unhurried, sure of itself, and very good company alongside a slow rum and an even slower evening.
