This one started as a request: a customer wrote from Thailand asking me to recreate the hat Jane March wore in the film The Lover. He even sent screenshots. In the movie, it is a soft felt hat, and a Montecristi Panama will never quite behave like felt – but the silhouette was within reach. I built it on a Monte Carlo crown with a loose, wobbly brim, and the result captures that same romantic, slightly undone elegance: a genuinely fun challenge, and a beautiful result.
