Fair warning: you have almost certainly never worn a brim this wide. When I tried the style out on women friends, nearly every one let out a yelp, snatched it up, and bolted for the nearest mirror, which struck me as a promising sign. A full seven inches of brim turns out to be strangely comforting; more than one person described wanting to disappear under it like a child under a blanket. Each is custom-woven for me in high-grade natural straw and trimmed in black grosgrain. Wear it turned up, turned down, or pinned to one side – one hat, a dozen moods.
